LENS SIMULATION
Leica LUX brings the world of Leica to your iPhone by imitating a variety of legendary Leica lenses. You can explore the unique world of Leica lenses, each offering its own image style. Lens simulations include classics – such as the Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH. and the Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2 ASPH. – the app is continuously being expanded to include additional lenses. The custom software engine also creates bokeh quality images, a style synonymous with Leica photography, directly in your iPhone.
ICONIC LEICA LOOKS
Leica LUX is based on Leica's own renowned colour science and offers the same colour corrections and film presets used in Leica cameras. These include Leica Looks such as Leica Classic, Leica Contemporary, Leica Black & White and Leica Vivid. REFRAME & ASPECT RATIOS
Leica LUX now supports non-destructive reframing and aspect ratio both in recompose and while capturing. Quickly choose standard formats like 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9.

The new i-Solaris 40 lens reproduces the signature swirled bokeh effect, with sharp central focus and dramatic background separation, ideal for portraiture and stylized photography.
Ratings and Reviews
This is 98% Awesome
As a professional cinematographer (and Leica owner), this is great. The lens emulations are spot on 90% of the time considering its using a supremely small sensor and lens to create these images. The bokeh could use some work sometimes, especially on lenses like the 50 1.2, but as an owner of the Sony 50 1.2GM i understand its a very hard look to emulate. Sometimes it unfocuses things that are on the same focal plane as the subject which essentially ruins the photo. That’s why I prefer the 35 lux or 28 lux for scenes where focus might be tough to distinguish. As a hiker this is great though, it eliminates my need to bring a mirrorless camera with me, and also gives me multiple lens options instead of just one zoom lens or one prime. I hope improvements continue to be made in terms of the bokeh/unfocusing things that should be focused, but I’m so impressed with this app that I can’t even use that as a reason to give this 4 stars because the look of a fast 50 is so hard to emulate
Ridiculously awesome
Long time photographer with a degree in photography. Been using the app for the last week while traveling Europe. It definitively takes the iPhone camera to a completely different level. I am creating images that would not be possible without. I am a long time 35mm Contax G2 user and this app has also helped me to “pre-compose” shots using my phone giving a reasonable sense of the final product on film with regards to depth of field and similar. Highly recommend. Your photos will absolutely go to another level.
Follow up: Shortly after writing this review I bought a Q2 Monochrom. Incredible camera! One suggestion though…. When someone spends $7K on a camera and gear, you shouldn’t require them to subscribe to your app. Just a thought.

Game changer
I am obsessed with taking photos on this app! I’ve always been into cell phone photography but this app has taken my pictures to the next level. My friends all know I use it. My one problem (aside from the app being a little glitchy sometimes)- can you add the functionality to allow after edits? I want to be able to change color filters after the fact instead of having to take five pics with different filters to see which is best. Also if you could allow photos not taken in the app to be edited into different styles and lenses that would be even better. Thanks!
