What problem does this address?

In Gutenberg 16, when opening a Page in the Site Editor and then switching to template editing, the "Edit" button in the left sidebar will lead the user back to the template editing, instead of switching to content editing.

Since the button is placed in a context that is Page-centric (it has the page title, preview, etc), I was expecting that it would switch me to content editing, even if I was originally editing the template.

What is your proposed solution?

The button action should default to content editing, no matter the current editing context.
