Bio-Formats 8.4.0 uses logback 1.3.16, motivated by qos-ch/logback#974

@melissalinkert Thank you for this! Unfortunately, the pom-scijava CI is currently in a bad state, so it cannot tell us anything at the moment regarding whether these dependency updates result in any issues with other components in the SciJava component collection. Given that there are no major version bumps here, and it is unlikely to cause substantial problems, I am going to go ahead and merge this now. I will be working on reconciling the pom-scijava CI tests to better support Java >8 in mid-February, at which time any existing dependency clashes will emerge and can be addressed at that time. |
