Hi. LOVE this plugin, by the way. Thank you for your hard work.

I am using this with your Client Portal add-on to create a private dashboard for my clients to use. Some of my clients have employees who are able to, for instance, order their own business cards; and so each user will have their own login, for security reasons.

In order to make it easier to manage user accounts and what they see, I would like to see the Organization field added as a default field. This way, I can load the default view for their company to the user’s page.

If this is doable without adding the feature, can you assist with this?

Thanks for your hard work on this plugin.

  • Hello Katrina,

    Thanks for your appreciation!

The default fields are the default WordPress fields, and there is unfortunately no Organization field there.

And extra fields are not available in the free version.

Perhaps you may use the Default – Website or the Default – Bio field, and just rename it?

We are not allowed to speak about the paid versions here, but if you wish to do so, please use our support ticket system:

Hi Gabriel. Thank you for your response. I’m using the free version.

Maybe it’s my version of WordPress, but on the UI it’s at the bottom of the user profile – a field called “Organization” and then a logo upload (don’t need the logo upload). In the database, it’s called “user_meta_org_name”. I did not add these with any plugins or anything.

But, no worries. I downloaded and activated the Select2 addon to add an additional field where users may select their company name from the dropdown. I added an additional field “Company Name” and “client_company” to the database for users to register for an account.

Maybe this will help someone else. Thanks for the response!

Hope you’re having a great day!

    Ha!

It’s cool that you could use Select2 for that. I don’t know about that Organization field. Who knows, perhaps it’s from your theme.

Where do you have the user_meta_org_name? Is it in your wp_usermeta table?

Can you send a screenshot of it?

Yes, it’s in my wp_usermeta table.

Here’s the screenshot of the Edit User where you’d include the Organization and logo. Maybe it comes with JetPack or something. But I believe it has something to do with the Author Box. I don’t know, really.

Don’t know if you could view the file. Here it is https://takeafile.com/?f=pirurowofi

I get a 404 Page not found upon clicking the screenshot link.

Anyways… it certainly does not sound familiar, and is most likely not a default WordPress field.

    Cheers,

Oh, OK, the second link worked.

Yeah, it’s definitely not a default WordPress feature.

If you want to find out what plugin / theme is doing it, you can briefly disable all plugins and enable a default theme, see that the thing will probably be gone, and then enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when it returns.

    Have a great day!

Thanks. I’ll try it. Have a good one!
