• Hi there! Love this plugin. I’ve been using it for five years on multiple sites. Thank you for all your hard work. 🙏

As a feature request (assuming this is not already possible), it’d be awesome if each event had a checkbox that rendered the location as a Google Maps link.

For example, I have an event that’s hosted at Schaumburg Convention Center, 1551 Thoreau Dr N, Schaumburg, IL 60173. The Google Maps link would just be

    https://www.google.com/maps?q=Schaumburg+Convention+Center,+1551+Thoreau+Dr+N,+Schaumburg,+IL+60173

For the site visitor to be able to click the location and have it open in Google Maps would be really neat!

This would have to be an option, since “Location: Zoom” doesn’t translate well to Google Maps. 😅

Thank you for considering this idea! Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide.

    Hi,

You cannot simply use the “more info” link for that? With a custom label? And leave Location field empty.
There are other event plugins that offer Google Maps or OpenStreetMap integration (so you can add a map to each event), but as far as I know this requires an API. Too much work for me.

Did not read this properly. I can look into this. But adding your own Google Maps link is more secure, because to generate the right map, the whole address should be entered correctly.

Meanwhile you can consider using the “more info” link for the Google Maps link, as mentioned before.

    Thanks for considering!

I’m curating a calendar of external events; I’m currently using the “More Info” link to lead to the websites of those events.

If you’re already using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, you can also consider adding an extra link field for each event, for the Google Maps link. This way you can display the extra link in the event details section.
