• First, let me say I LOVE how well-thought out all your toggles and options are for this plugin. You’re really really an excellent block-based plugin dev! (… and I’ve tried a lot of classic AND gutenberg sliders!) Thank you for creating this!

Any thoughts/tips on the best way to control the height? If I place large images inside it, the slider expands to fit them (even with adaptive height turned off).

So far I see three ways to control the height

    1. control the width of the container it’s in (a group, content width, full width, etc) in various block settings.
    2. setting the size on the IMAGE blocks individually (more tedious if someone has a lot of nested blocks).
    3. If people/clients upload images at the exact pixel dimensions they want the height to be (but hard to control once you pass site to a client!).

For instance, in Jetpack Slideshow and others, there is a way to set it to full size, large, etc on the PARENT block. (maybe Jetpack is only able to do that because they use a modified gallery block so it can have one parent control)

For your parent slick block, perhaps you could add that option at the parent block level would solve the height issue since it would be able to pull thumb, medium, large, full size from the media library.

OR… perhaps you could add a height control using standard gutenberg controls where someone can set em, rem, svh, vh, %, etc.

Or perhaps none of this would work if the slider does a lot of calculations like most do…

Hello, sorry for the late reply.

The plugin doesn’t generally interact with core blocks. Therefore, you’ll need to configure options in the core blocks. This isn’t just a gallery slider and doesn’t rely solely on images. It’s possible to create text-based sliders like cards, testimonials, etc.

However, I’ll check what I can do about the height issue.

    Thanks for your interest.
