• Hi!

I can write and save a note in a block.

But I can see the saved note.

I don’t have the Note icon in the tools bar.

Hi there! are you able to find the notes on the “more menu” (the three dots menu at the top right of the editor)

By default the notes icon should appear at the left of the “publish” button in the post editor once your post contains at least one note.

    No. Nothing.

I flushed the cache of my browser.

The icon did appears. But when I reload the page, the icon was gone.

I will do a test with Firefox and Safari.

I’m keen on getting to the bottom of this, would you be able to share a full set of steps so I can try to reproduce? I’d like to know if which theme you’re using, whether you’re editing a post or a page, and whether you have the Preview (desktop icon) > Show template option enabled or not.

For what it’s worth, the notes icon should appear if a post or page already has a note, and not otherwise. So if you select a block, click the ellipsis in the toolbar, and choose the option “Add note”, and type in your comment, the note should appear:

    Hi !

    I use Hestia Pro theme.

I checked with the team of Themeisle and nothing wrong on their side.

I delete the cache of Chrome to do a test.

The icon appears. But, when I return into the page, the note icon was gone, for good.

Thank you for the added context. Can you be more granular with steps to reproduce? For example in the following GIF, I do this:

    • Edit a draft, add a comment, see that the note icon appears
    • Navigate to the dashboard
    • Navigate back to the the post, and see that the note icon reappears

Can you try those same steps and let me know if the icon disappears, still?

I did those same steps. The icon disappears.

Thanks for responding. That’s frustrating, but important to figure out, so I think we need to bring this to the developers. Would you be able to open an issue in the Gutenberg repository about this? The more details, steps to reproduce, information about the site, perhaps even URL, plugins installed, theme, WordPress and plugin versions, the better. If not, let me know and I’ll see if I can open an issue on your behalf.
