I set up Reports > Notifications to show this feature to a client. It was set to send daily at 4pm. It has been sending every day at 4pm.

I looked today after receiving the email at 4pm inside Reports > Notifications and the notification is actually DEACTIVATED and showed as the default of 4am Monthly (or whatever your default is).

So then I changed it to 5pm (in 30 mins) daily and reactivated and deactivated to see if it will come again today or if it will finally stop.

All of this to say… there seems to be some issue with the plugin activating/deactivating CRON jobs?

    Hi @jhmonroe

I hope you are doing well today.

We do not have any reported issues in that matter. Can you let us know if there are any other admins on that site? Also, can you let us know if the site uses any object cache, and if so, clear it and see if emails are still going through?

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

    Hi @wpmudevsupport13

    Just me!

Today’s report came thru at 4pm (the original time I schedule a month ago) despite me changing it to 5pm yesterday.

Caching: I have all the host’s cache plugins turned off for my testing and also made sure memcache (their object caching) is turned off on the host’s site tools on their site as well

If you tell me where to look for logs or items related to this in the WP files, database, host logs, etc I can share whatever info I find

PS: before I opened this thread, I checked the forums and found previous issues that were somewhat related:

Closely related to changes not taking effect: https://wpmudev.com/forums/topic/forminator-sending-in-scheduled-exports-email/

    Hello @jhmonroe

Hope you’re doing well today! Thank you for following up and sharing further information about the issue.

It seems like the scheduled action for the report appears to be stuck somehow. Could you please confirm if you cleared memcache before deactivating it? And the issue still occurred?

Also, could you please try deactivating the Forminator plugin for a couple of minutes and activate it back and observe if the issue still occurs?

Please let us know how it goes so that we can troubleshoot the issue further.

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh

Yes I reactivated memcache this AM only to flush again and then deactivate.

Deactivated Forminator, reactivated and changed time to the next hour and the report still came thru at the old time of 4pm. Changed it to 5pm and no report came thru.

How can I change this on the server or database?

    Hi @jhmonroe,

Sorry to know that you are still experiencing this issue.

The reports schedule is stored in the database table (prefix)_frmt_form_reports. Could you please share the content from the ‘report_value’ column in your next response using pastebin.com so that we can take a closer look at the issue?

Additionally, can you please reinstall Forminator on your website and check if that helps to resolve the issue? Please ensure you have the Preserve Data option enabled at Forminator >> Settings>> Data before re-installing the plugin.

We also recommend taking a backup of the website before proceeding further.

Let us know the results so that we can help further.

    Best Regards,
    Nebu John

    Hey!

Ok I deactivated, deleted, reinstalled the plugin.

I changed the report time to 12pm daily (which is in ~30 mins from now to test if it comes) and have it set to active.

Here’s the value from database which appears to show the daily noon time correctly (oddly it shows the weekly and month times even tho i activated the daily tab):

    a:6:{s:7:"exclude";a:1:{i:0;s:1:"1";}s:8:"settings";a:5:{s:5:"label";s:12:"Form reports";s:6:"module";s:5:"forms";s:10:"forms_type";s:3:"all";s:12:"quizzes_type";s:3:"all";s:10:"polls_type";s:3:"all";}s:8:"schedule";a:6:{s:9:"frequency";s:5:"daily";s:4:"time";s:8:"12:00 PM";s:7:"weekDay";s:6:"sunday";s:8:"weekTime";s:8:"12:00 AM";s:8:"monthDay";s:1:"4";s:9:"monthTime";s:8:"04:00 AM";}s:13:"report_status";s:6:"active";s:10:"recipients";a:1:{i:0;a:5:{s:2:"id";s:1:"1";s:4:"name";s:2:"jm";s:5:"email";s:18:"MY-EMAIL";s:4:"role";s:13:"Administrator";s:6:"avatar";s:121:"NO-GRAVATAR";}}s:9:"report_id";s:1:"1";}

PS: Nothing came thru at 12pm, so despite the database showing the correct time, the scheduled export will probably come thru at 4pm again (the old time)

    Hi @jhmonroe

If the issue persists would it be possible to:

    – Make a full backup, and remove any Forminator scheduled cron using https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-crontrol/
    – Go to WordPress > Tools > Scheduled action and remove any pending Forminator related action
    – Flush the object cache if any.

    Best Regards

An interesting update. In the last 24 hrs I first received TWO REPORTS:
    1) a report at 12pm as scheduled in most recent test.

    2) Then another came thru at 4pm (the original time from weeks ago).

The 12pm report was beautifully styled with css but did not include the CSV file:

The 4pm report was barebones plain text and included the CSV file:

I think I have it figured out. You actually have TWO systems for digests and they have similar options and results which made this confusing:

    1. Scheduled EXPORTS
    2. Scheduled REPORTS

That no one from support realized this is what I was experiencing might be a good example of how the UI/UX is confusing.

These two features could simply be combined into one in the backend. Scheduled Exports & Notifications could all be controlled from one place and not buried in two places and two popups. The digest that results could be in the beautifully styled email instead of the plain text email if someone wants that…

    Hi @jhmonroe,

Glad to hear you have managed to figure it out. I’ll make sure to bring this to our Forminator team’s attention to check and consider what further improvements related to UI/UX could be made in future updates.
